AUSTIN, Texas—The Concordia University Texas Athletics Department announced today that Sports Information Director, Brooke Boggs, will be leaving the University on June 25, 2009, after almost three years with the University.
“This is an exciting time for Tornados athletes and fans,” Boggs said. “I look forward to seeing what is in store for Concordia’s Athletics Program. I know they will achieve great things.”
Boggs is a 2005 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and holds a degree in Corporate Communication. She has served as the Sports Information Director for Concordia since October 2006. Prior to her position at Concordia, Boggs served as the Marketing Director at a sports agency based out of San Antonio.
While at Concordia, Boggs oversaw the complete rebranding of the Athletics Department, which included a new athletic logo and the launch of a new athletic Web site in September 2008. She has also served as the Student Athlete Advisory Committee sponsor for the past two years and was named the employee of the quarter for Concordia in February 2008.
“Brooke has been instrumental in developing the athletics brand and image over the past three years for Concordia. The new logos, marketing materials and Web site are due in part to her vision and hard work,” Dan Huntley, Athletics Director, said. “We wish Brooke success on her new journey and know that she will have success in her next endeavor.”
Boggs has been key in building beneficial relationships with local media, University communication officials and numerous other departments within Concordia.
“Brooke is an incredible asset to the Athletics Department, as well as the entire University,” Lisa Candido, Director of University Communications, said. “Her contributions to our communications team have allowed Concordia to receive statewide recognition.”
Concordia has started the search process for a new Sports Information Director.
