BOX SCORE

KERRVILLE, Texas --
Freshman guard #Nick Haynes# scored 20 points to lead the Concordia University Texas men's basketball team to a 79-62 win over Schreiner University on Thursday evening at the Edington Center.  Haynes nearly missed his career-high (21), which he set last week.

The Tornados (9-7, 7-5 ASC) have now won seven of their last eight contests and are 6-1 in 2010 with the additions of junior guard #Justin Reefer# and junior post #Collin Perkins#.

Schreiner (3-12, 3-9 ASC) trimmed Concordia's halftime lead to six (37-31) as Trevor Conner knocked down a three-point attempt as time expired.  However, the Tornados would run away with the contest in the second half.

The Tornados pulled away midway through the second half and led by as much as 20 points (62-42).  Schreiner would get as close as 12, but never really threatened CTX in the second half.

Concordia shot 45.6% (31-of-68) from the field.  The Tornados outrebounded the Mountaineers, 41-29.  Reefer led all players with 10 rebounds.

Haynes led all scorers and buried three three-pointers in the win for Concordia.  Sophomore guard #Kenny Williams# scored 15, including several contested lay-ins.  Seniors #Brian Elarms# and #Brad Walker# also chipped in with 12 and 11 points, respectively.

The Tornados, who have run their winning streak to three games, will host Texas Lutheran University on Saturday at Concordia Fieldhouse.  Tip time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
