ABILENE, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas men's basketball team was outlasted by McMurry University, 97-80, on Saturday evening at Kimbrell Arena. In two games in Abilene over the last week, the Tornados (10-9, 8-7 ASC) posted back-to-back losses after winning four straight.
McMurry (12-6, 10-4 ASC) relied on hot shooting hands to shoot 50.7% (34-of-67) from the field. Jamal Anene paced the McMurry offensive attack by scoring a game-high 22 points. A total of five McMurry players scored in double digits.
The Tornados were led on the day by #Brad Walker#'s 17 points. #Kenny Williams# and #Nick Haynes# each recorded 12. Concordia shot 42.7% (32-of-75) from the floor, including 30.4% (7-of-23) from beyond the three-point line.
McMurry edged Concordia on the boards, 45-41. However, #Justin Reefer# continued his rebounding dominance, bringing down a game-high 11 rebounds.
Concordia will now return home for a three-game homestand, which begins Thursday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. against Hardin-Simmons at Concordia Fieldhouse.
