BOX SCORE

ABILENE, Texas --
A tough road trip to Abilene turned into back-to-back losses for the Concordia University Texas women's basketball team.  On Saturday, the Tornados (7-12, 5-10 ASC) were handed an 82-64 loss by McMurry University at Kimbrell Arena.

Senior forward #Kerrie Carter# led Concordia with 21 points, 11 of which came by way of the free throw line.  Carter also led the Tornados in the rebounding column with nine boards.  Three other CTX players entered double digits, including #Margaret Milling# (14), #Skylar Lott# (13), and Julia Bellquist (10).

McMurry (11-7, 8-6 ASC) took advantage of the Tornados lack of depth by outscoring Concordia's bench, 33-3.  All three of Concordia's bench points came in the first half as #Deja Thomas# hit one free throw and scored on a jump shot.  Head coach Steve Cochran's club has been decimated by the loss of several players to injury.

McMurry scored first as Anna Berthel scored on a jumper in the lane.  The Tornados tied up the game as Milling knocked down a pair of free throws.  Erica Rawls scored for McMurry with another jumper in the lane, putting CTX behind for good.  McMurry never looked back and led the rest of the way.

Berthel led four McMurry players into double digits by netting 17.

The Tornados will return to Austin to host a three-game homestand beginning Thursday, Feb. 4 at 5:30 p.m. against Hardin-Simmons.
