RICHARDSON, Texas -- Concordia University Texas junior third baseman #Justin Beasley# has been tabbed the first American Southwest Conference Hitter of the Week for the 2010 season according to a release sent out by the league office late Monday.

Beasley batted at a .429 clip with three doubles, one grand slam and 11 runs batted in while leading CTX to a three-game sweep of Southwestern in the opening weekend.  Three of Beasley's RBI came on a bases-clearing single on Sunday.

The Franklin, Texas, native is currently riding a 10-game hitting streak dating back to last season.  Beasley was selected as one of "16 to watch in the ASC West" prior to the 2010 season.

Beasley will look to help the Tornados stay unbeaten this weekend as Concordia travels to Texas-Dallas for a single nine-inning game in Richardson at 2 p.m.
