FINAL RESULTS
HOUSTON, Texas -- The Concordia University Texas men's track and field team competed in the Victor Lopez Classic, hosted by Rice University, at the Rice Track Stadium on Saturday. The Tornados sent only a few competitors due to numerous injuries.
Freshman hurdler #Russell Jablonowski# was the top finisher on the day for Concordia. Jablonowski finished 13th in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 15.94. His time was faster than seven NCAA Division I runners who entered the event. Jablonowski was the seventh fastest collegiate runner in the race and the only NCAA Division III participant.
Freshman sprinter #Michael McDowell# turned in a 24th place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.67, which put him in front of one NCAA Division I runner.
Freshman #Quincy Braxton# ran in the 200 meter dash, however no time was recorded due to errors with the timing mechanism during the event. Only a handful of 200 meter times were recorded.
The Tornados started to compete in the 4x100 meter relay, but did not finish due to an injury suffered by freshman #Brent Reynolds# following the first hand off.
Concordia will continue training in preparations for the Trinity University Relays in San Antonio on April 2.
