FINAL RESULTS

HORSESHOE BAY, Texas --
Senior #Michael Goldwater# shot a three-under par 68 in the final round of the 2010 American Southwest Conference Golf Championships to finish second overall.  Concordia University Texas placed fourth in the team standings and were one of only two teams to have two individuals in the top 10.

Goldwater posted a pair of school records in the final round.  His 68 is the lowest score ever recorded in school history and he is the first CTX golfer to ever record a round of three shots under par.  Goldwater finished eight strokes out of first place as Texas-Tyler's Brandon Ellis shot a three-day total of 209 to claim the conference's individual crown.

Freshman #Eddie Diaz de Leon# finished 10th overall for the Tornados.  He shot a three-day total of 226, including a 78 in the final 18 holes.

Freshmen #Justin Muraida# and #C.J. Caliendo# tied for 38th place as each carded a 245 in the 54-hole event.  Freshman #J.D. Heathcoat#, who was disqualified after a scorecard error in the first round, still contributed to the team totals by posting a 77 in the second round and a 79 in the final round.

Texas-Tyler also celebrated after claiming the team title.  The Patriots ran away with the event, besting second place Mary Hardin-Baylor by 34 strokes.  Schreiner finished in front of Concordia in third place.  Mississippi College finished one stroke behind Concordia in fourth place.  Texas-Dallas and Texas Lutheran finished in fifth and sixth places, while McMurry placed eighth and Hardin-Simmons finished ninth.
