RICHARDSON, Texas -- Freshman right-hander #Haylee Staton# has been named the American Southwest Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 29-April 4, it was announced on Tuesday by ASC Director of Media Relations Greg Weghorst.

Staton posted a 2-0 record last week after handing Hardin-Simmons its first two conference losses.  The Austin, Texas, native hurled 14.0 innings, allowed two earned runs, struck out 17 batters and issued two free passes.  In both starts, Staton recorded complete games.

Staton leads Concordia with a 1.48 earned run average.  She is also the team leader in wins (6), complete games (6), innings pitched (66.0) and strikeouts (56).

The Tornados are 15-11 on the season and 12-4 in conference play.
