Michael Goldwater in action
Sometimes individual accomplishments can be overlooked for student-athletes competing in sports that aren't always in the spotlight.  One accomplishment that would be hard to overlook is year that senior golfer #Michael Goldwater# had at Concordia.

After transferring to Concordia from Texas-El Paso, Goldwater reeled off the most impressive season in Tornados golf history.  He finished the year with a runner-up finish at the conference championship tournament.  In the process he set the school record with a three-under par round of 68.

Goldwater had four top 10 finishes during the 2009-10 season.  He set eight single-season records during his only season at CTX.  But more importantly, he mentored a young group of golfers, which produced the highest overall team finish in Concordia history.

Goldwater was the only senior in the starting five for Tornados head coach #Greg Sigler#, who says Goldwater's knowledge of the game rubbed off on his young team early on in the season.

Prior to Concordia, Goldwater played at the NCAA Division I level, making it to the NCAA regionals during the 2003-04 season.  His experience at UTEP prepared him to be one of the top golfers in the American Southwest Conference.  And that's where he finished.
