CTX Cheerleading Tryouts to be Held on September 10
Head coach Chrissy Howell has announced that tryouts for the Concordia University Texas cheerleading program will be held on Sept. 10.
The date, time and location for the tryouts are as follows:
Saturday, September 10th
Tryouts: 10am – 1pm (Concordia Field House)
Students should bring their sneakers and be dressed comfortably in a t-shirt and shorts for the tryouts.

CTX Cheerleading Posts Runner-Up Finish in Small Co-Ed Level Division at 2011 UCA Collegiate Camp
San Marcos, Texas – In its second competition this year, the Concordia University Texas co-ed cheerleading team placed second overall in the small co-ed level at the 2011 UCA Collegiate Camp at Texas State. The camp, which was held from July 15-18, was comprised of cheerleading squads from approximately eight colleges with varsity athletics programs that compete at the NCAA Division II and Division III levels.
Head coach Chrissy Howell’s program earned its second trophy in 2011, as the squad also placed first overall at the Fun Cheer National Championships held on March 5-6 at the Lone Star Convention Center. In that competition, the Tornados placed first as the only team competing in the OPEN Level 6 Division and scored better than 22 other teams that won their respective divisions to be crowned national champions.

CTX Cheerleading Wins Fun Cheer National Championship
Conroe, Texas – Competing in its first event of the spring, the Concordia University Texas co-ed cheerleading team placed first overall at the Fun Cheer National Championships held on March 5-6 at the Lone Star Convention Center. The Tornados registered a combined total of 68.23 points in the OPEN Level 6 Division.
Concordia placed first as the only team competing in the OPEN Level 6 Division and scored better than 22 other teams that won their respective divisions to be crowned national champions. The squad posted perfect scores in five of the 10 categories they were judged in, including motions & dance, pyramids, partner stunts, formations & transitions and overall performance.
The competition included Concordia as the only four-year college and 68 other high schools, all-star teams and recreational teams comprised of individuals ranging from the ages of approximately 8-30 years old.
