Concordia Drops a Close One

Clinton, MS- Concordia University Texas fell to the Mississippi College, 87-81 Thursday night at the A.E. Wood Coliseum in Clinton, Mississippi. The loss drops Concordia to 4-7 overall and 3-4 in the ASC while, the Choctaws improve to 8-3 and 4-3.

Concordia was down 32-28 at halftime after shooting only 33% from the field as compared to the Choctaws 41%. The Tornados were within two points of the Choctaws with 27 second remaining. 

The Tornados were led by freshman Kenny Williams with 16 points. Bills hit 6-9 shots from the field including 2-3 from three point range. Joel McDonald added 13 points while Brian Elarms pitched in with 11 points.

The Choctaws were led by Bryan Johnson with 17 points.

The Choctaws shot 50% from the field and out rebounded the Tornados 37-34. Concordia shot 44% from the floor.

Concordia will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to Louisiana College for another American Southwest Conference match up. Tip of is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
