KERRVILLE, Texas- Concordia University Texas baseball closed out the 2009 reagular season this afternoon with a series sweep over Schreiner University. The Tornados picked up a 6-0 and 11-4 win in Kerrville on Sunday afternoon to keep their ASC Postseason chances alive.

Concordia is now 21-18 overall and 10-10 in ASC West action while Schreiner finalizes their season at 14-22 overall and 7-13 in ASC action.

Concordia's ASC Tournament chances will be determined tomorrow as Mary Hardin Baylor hosts Howard Payne University at 2:00pm. A Cru loss would put them tied with COncordia in the fourth seed of the ASC West Division and since Concordia swept UMHB earlier this season they hold the tie breaker and would then advance to the ASC postseason.

In game one, Michael Johnson was true to form dominating the Mountaineers retiring 15 to strikeouts in seven complete innings while only allowing 2 hits and one walk.

Justin Beasley led the Tornados offensively going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double.

In game two, Ben Whiteley retired seven Moutaineers to strikeouts and allowed six hits and two runs. Senior Nick Cmerek closed out his reagular season with teo RBIs and two doubles in Concordia's 11-4 win.

Check back tomorrow for a complete re-cap of the 2009 regular season.
