Spears earned UIL All-Century Team status in the long jump and triple jump.

Assistant Track Coach Spears Named to the UIL All-Century Team

AUSTIN, Texas -- Concordia University Texas assistant track and field coach #Ychlindria Spears# was recently named to the University Interscholastic League's (UIL) All-Century Team for her performance in the long jump and triple jump.

Spears, like many others, went through a nomination and voting process to earn the prestigious honored.  She was recognized with other members of the team during the high school state track and field meet last weekend, which was held at the University of Texas.

Spears, a Luling High School graduate, is still the state record holder in the long jump and triple jump.  She also is the national record holder in the triple jump with a leap of 44'02.02".

Spears was one of two current Concordia staff members to be nominated for the all-century team.  CTX men's basketball head coach #Stan Bonewitz# was also nominated for his high school performance on the court at East Central High School in San Antonio.
