Brandon Rohr is entering his third season as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team at Concordia University Texas. He is responsible for assisting head coach Rusty Rainbolt with all aspects of the program, playing a key role in player development, practice & game management, and scouting of future opponents. Rohr also is the recruiting coordinator for the Tornados and oversee the academic activities of the student-athletes at CTX.
Rohr helped the women's team collect a 3.2 team g.p.a in the 2010-2011 season with over five student-athletes being named to the American Southwest Conference All-Academic Team. He has been overseeing the training and development of the CTX guards over the past two years. Highlighted by Margaret Milling, who has led the ASC in steals per game in her freshman and sophomore seasons, Concordia's young backcourt has earned numerous awards since his arrival. Milling, a two-time member of the ASC West Division All-Defensive Team, was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Freshman of the Year and landed on the division’s all-freshman squad along with teammate Brianna Smith in 2009-10 and was honorably mentioned for all-conference accolades as a sophomore this past winter. As a squad, the Tornados have led the league in steals per game and were second in the ASC in turnover margin. In addition Shamika Singleton was named both the ASC Newcomer of the Year and West Division Player of the Year in 2011.
A native of Tobias, Nebraska, Rohr has directed over 25 high school skill development camps across the country during the previous two summers. He has made a mark on over 500 young players in states such as Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Texas, Michigan and Wisconsin. In 2010 he was named the Midwest Elite Basketball Camp Director of the Year, where he serves as a camp director and curriculum designer.
Rohr, who has also coached at the AAU level, led the Austin Lady Magic Showcase team to multiple tournaments wins in the 2011 spring season. Brandon was a four-time letter winner in baseball and track & field at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management with a minor in coaching in 2008 and a master’s in organizational management, focusing on sport and recreation, from Wayne State College in 2009.
He currently resides in Austin, Texas.
