Walker Lands on D3hoops.com Team of the Week for Third Time

AUSTIN, Texas -- Concordia University Texas senior forward #Brad Walker# has been named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week for the third time this season.

Walker scored 22 points and pulled down six rebounds in Concordia's one-point loss to Mary Hardin-Baylor on Jan. 11.  He followed that up with back-to-back 23-point games in wins over Howard Payne (Jan. 14) and Sul Ross State (Jan. 16).  He also grabbed 12 rebounds in the win over Howard Payne.

The Brenham, Texas, native averaged 22.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, 2.7 steals, 2.7 blocked shots and 2.3 assists during the three-game span, which saw the Tornados post a 2-1 record.

Walker, who leads CTX in scoring (18.9 ppg), joins Dominican's Marquis Turley, Carl Munnerlyn of Plattsburgh State, Daniel McKeehan of Thomas More and Andrew Powers of Gettysburg on the Team of the Week.  The D3hoops.com National Team of the Week is the only major national recognition of Division III collegiate men's and women's basketball players and is in its 13th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week.

Walker joins Powers as the only two players across the country to be named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week three times this season.

Marquis Turley, Jr., G, Dominican
Turley continued his scoring barrage in leading the Stars to a pair of NATHC victories. He averaged 24.5 points, 7.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds as the Stars topped Aurora and Rockford. Turley shot over 42 percent from the field (14-of-33) and over 90 percent from the charity stripe (20-of-22). Against Rockford, Turley scored a game-high 31 points, 23 in the second half in a tight 77-71 win.

Carl Munnerlyn, Jr., G, Plattsburgh State
Munnerlyn went 6-for-6 from three-point range in the second half against Cortland State and hit his first two against Oswego State for a streak of eight made threes in a row. He finished 12-for-17 from the field and 10-for-12 from three-point range in averaging 20.5 points.

Daniel McKeehan, Sr., F, Thomas More
McKeehan had 17 points in a win against Bethany, including the game-winning putback at the buzzer that gave the Saints first place in the PAC. He followed that with a career-high 33 points, nine rebounds, eight steals and five assists against Thiel.

Andrew Powers, Jr., C, Gettysburg
Powers averaged 21.3 points and 9.0 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week. He scored a game-high 22 points in a 74-63 win at Ursinus, shooting 7-of-12 from the field and 8-of-12 at the foul line. He followed up with a pair of double-doubles: a game-high 25-point, 12-rebound performance in a 76-71 loss to Muhlenberg and 17 points and 10 boards in a 67-59 win against Haverford. For the week, Powers shot 54.3 from the field and 71.9 percent at the charity stripe.
