AUSTIN, Texas -- A busy weekend is on tap for the Concordia University Texas athletic department.  On Friday, CTX athletics will honor its first ever hall of fame class.  Baseball, men's basketball and women's basketball will all be in action on Saturday and Sunday, baseball will be back out on the diamond.

Four individuals and two teams make up the inaugural Concordia Athletics Hall of Fame class.  Former head baseball coach James Keller, Carol Jean Sharp (volleyball), Wendell Holmes (men's basketball), and Scott Linebrink (baseball) will all be inducted as individuals on Friday evening.  The 1982-83 men's basketball and 2002 baseball teams complete Concordia's initial hall of fame class.

The hall of fame ceremony will be held on Friday night at The Oasis on Lake Travis.  Over 200 invited guests are expected to attend.  Read a preview story on Friday's event, written by Kirk Bohls of the Austin American-Statesman.  Fans are encouraged to share their memories of the inductees on the Concordia Athletics Facebook fan page.

The Tornados baseball team will open up their 2010 campaign on Saturday under first-year head coach Tommy Boggs.  CTX will travel to Georgetown on Saturday and Sunday to square off with Southwestern University in a three-game series.  The first pitch of Saturday's doubleheader is scheduled for noon.  On Sunday, the two teams will match up for a single nine-inning affair at noon.  Fans can follow Southwestern's live stats for free or pay to watch the game live.

The Concordia men's and women's basketball teams are in the middle of a three-game homestand.  On Saturday, McMurry comes to Concordia Fieldhouse for games at 1 and 3 p.m.  Fans can follow Concordia's live stats or by listening to the Tornados Sports Radio Network.
