RICHARDSON, Texas -- For the second time this season, Concordia University Texas senior forward #Brad Walker# was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday.
Walker guided the Tornados to two wins last week by averaging 27.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots. The Brenham, Texas, native poured in a career-best 31 points in Concordia's 108-89 win over McMurry (Feb. 6). Walker added 10 rebounds and five blocked shots in the win. Earlier in the week, he scored 24 points, collected seven rebounds and dished out four assists in a 106-78 win over Hardin-Simmons (Feb. 4).
Walker came off the bench in both games for Concordia, averaging 26.5 minutes during the week. He shot at a .474 clip (18-of-38) from the field. Walker hit 88.9% (16-of-18) of his shots from the free throw line.
Earlier in the season, Walker also earned three appearances on the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week. Walker, who was named the ASC West preseason player of the year, is averaging 19.1 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.0 blocked shots per game. He is Concordia's all-time blocks leader (113) and is sixth on the school's all-time scoring list (1,465 points).
