Horseshoe Bay, Texas – For the first time in school history, Concordia University Texas will be sending both its men's and women's programs to compete at the American Southwest Conference Golf Championships. Eighty-seven golfers – 48 men, 39 women – are set to tee off on Monday, Apr. 18 at the Horseshoe Bay Resort. The Tornado men will be participating in the event for the second straight year as the ninth seed, while the women will be making their first-ever appearance and will be seeded sixth.
The event, in its 15th year, will feature nine men's teams (top-seeded Texas-Tyler followed by Texas Lutheran, Mary Hardin-Baylor, LeTourneau, Texas-Dallas, Mississippi College, Hardin-Simmons, Schreiner and Concordia Texas), three men's individuals (McMurry's Matt Ragovin and Louisiana College's Caleb Stark and Chas Cranford), and eight women's squads (top-seeded Texas-Tyler followed by Mary Hardin-Baylor, Schreiner, McMurry, LeTourneau, Concordia Texas, Texas Lutheran and Texas-Dallas).
Starts times are set for 8:30 a.m. each day. The men, who will have shotgun starts, are scheduled for 54 holes (36 on Monday, 18 on Tuesday) at par-71 Ram Rock Golf Course. The women, who will have tee times on Monday followed by a final-round shotgun start, will play 36 holes (18 each day) at par-72 Apple Rock Golf Course. Each championship team will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Golf Championships.
For the first time in ASC golf tournament history, live video coverage will be available. Fans can access a live stream with audio each day from 10 a.m. – Noon (women's action on Monday, men's action on Tuesday) and also during the entire post-tournament awards ceremony on Tuesday.
