Richardson, Texas
– A school-record 29 Concordia University Texas student-athletes were named to the 2011 American Southwest Conference Fall Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Thursday, Jan. 19. The teams include the sports of cross country, soccer and volleyball.

Concordia's volleyball team placed a league-leading 10 student-athletes on the conference academic honor roll, the highest number selected among Tornado teams. Women's soccer (6), women's cross country (6) men's soccer (4) and men's cross country (3) all had at least one athlete chosen.

All five members of the women's cross country team that scored at the ASC meet and led the Tornados to their first crown in school history – Joli Bula, Haley Phillips, Caitlin Rowlette, Megan Wagenaar and Victoria Williams - were among the honorees, and all of them ended the fall with cumulative GPAs that were above a 3.6. The six honorees the squad had also matched a league high with Texas Lutheran.

To be eligible for ASC All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have lettered in the fall 2011 season, be in at least the second academic year at their institution and carry a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 or better. Concordia, which saw the GPA of all its student-athletes soar above a 3.0 for the first time in 2011, had never had more than 18 student-athletes chosen to the ASC Fall Academic Honor Roll before this year.
