Austin, Texas
 – Collin Janssen has been named a D3Baseball.com Preseason Second Team All-American as a utility player and utility pitcher, as announced by D3Baseball.com. The senior is the first player in program history to garner the honor.

Janssen, who is the only student-athlete to make two lists, was named Concordia's Male Athlete of the Year last season after helping the Tornados win their second American Southwest Conference crown before making a run at the NCAA West Regional. He was also the ASC West Division Player of the Year and an All-ASC West Division First Team selection. As a transfer from Temple Junior College, Janssen made significant contributions from the beginning by starting his CTX career on a five-game hitting streak, with seven runs batted in during that stretch, to earn the league's first ASC West Division Hitter of the Week award of the season for his efforts.

Janssen led all Tornado regular starters with a .377 batting average and recorded 29 runs batted in, 12 doubles, one triple and two home runs. A tremendous player defensively at the catcher position, Janssen threw out a league-best 18 base runners attempting to steal. The senior also posted a 2-1 ledger on the mound and finished with 21 strikeouts. Janssen batted a team-best .450 with eight RBI in the postseason, which included going 6-for-13 in the ASC's championship round at Texas-Dallas to garner all-tournament honors.

Concordia opens up its 2012 season with a home game against Southwestern on Friday, Feb. 3 at 4 p.m.
