Lashanda Luckey was named the American Southwest Conference West Division Co-Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday, Feb. 13. The senior is being honored for the second time this season after leading the program to another record-breaking week. The Tornados eclipsed all-time program standards for overall victories (18) and ASC wins (16) in a season.
A native of Garland, Texas, Luckey averaged 15.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 3.0 assists in victories over McMurry and Hardin-Simmons. She ranked first on the team in scoring, rebounding and steals and was second on the squad in assists per contest. The senior registered 17 points, eight rebounds, four assists, four steals and one block in a 59-50 win over McMurry before adding 14 points, nine rebounds, five steals and two assists in a 73-60 victory over Hardin-Simmons as the Tornados swept their season series with the Cowgirls for the first time ever.
Concordia (18-4, ASC 16-3), which is currently tied for first place and is guaranteed to post its highest finish ever in the standings, will visit Texas Lutheran and Schreiner this week before making its first appearance in the ASC Tournament since 2005 on Feb. 24 at Louisiana College.
