AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas Baseball team will have Lance Berkman serve as the keynote speaker for the team's annual Dining with the Stars fundraiser head coach Tommy Boggs announced on Monday.

Berkman spent 15 years in the major leagues, most notably with the Houston Astros, and also played under Boggs with the Austin Slam Baseball Club. The dinner will take place on Oct. 29 at the United Heritage Center at Dell Diamond with cocktails and registration beginning at 4:30 p.m. and dinner to take place at 6 p.m.

The team will also host its annual golf tournament and helicopter ball drop at River Place Country Club the following day on Oct. 30. The round will have a shotgun start at Noon with a four-person scramble as the format. Lunch will be given out during registration for the round at 11 a.m. At the conclusion of the round, a helicopter golf ball drop will take place, where participants can purchase any amount of golf balls for the drop and win up to $1000 in prizes. Afterwards, dinner will be served and team prizes will be handed out.

This is the 18th year the team will be hosting its dinner and golf tournament fundraiser as all the proceeds will go toward the baseball team's operating budget. For more information about the events, registration or interested in sponsorships, please see the links at the top.
