Biography

Junior (2010): Named one of "16 to Watch" in the ASC West Division.

Prior to Concordia: Spent one season at the University of Alabama and two at Odessa College.

Cuba Friendship Tournament:
Hays made two relief appearances for the University of Alabama in the three-game exhibition series against Cuba ... he faced three batters in the two-game stint and allowed one hit ... helped preserve a 3-3 tie in the series opener by recording a key out for Alabama in the ninth inning on Dec. 16.

Sophomore (2008 - Odessa JC): Hays went 7-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 13 games at Odessa College ... led the team in innings (58 2/3), wins (7) and earned run average (2.91) and ranked second in appearances (13) ... helped his team to a 26-16 record.

Freshman (2007 - Odessa JC): Hays posted a 5-4 record and 6.29 ERA in 16 games ... worked 54 1/3 innings and allowed 44 runs (38 ER) and 61 hits with 38 walks and 52 strikeouts ... ranked third on the team in strikeouts and fourth on the club in strikeouts per inning (0.98) ... led team to a 31-17 overall record and third place finish in the Western Junior Athletic Conference ... participated in the Region V Tournament ... helped Odessa to a 17-game winning streak ... he also pitched in the 2007 Texas Junior College All-Star Game.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Stony Point High School in Round Rock, Texas, where he played for coach Tom Collins ... a two-way player, Hays was a starting pitcher and outfielder ... a two-time first-team all-district pitcher and two-time second-team all-district outfielder.

Personal: Full name is Scott Sterling Hays ... son of Eddy and Jan Foradory ... has two older sisters, Kristen (23) and Kim (21) ... one of four Stony Point players to sign Division I scholarship, Alabama freshman first baseman Matt Baca, sophomore right-hand pitcher Stephen Mazur (Notre Dame) and junior infielder Ryan Goins (Dallas Baptist).
