Newberg, Oregon
– The Concordia University Texas women's basketball team is making its first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history in Oregon this weekend. One of the student-athletes will reflect on her personal experiences as well as the team's each day. Domonique Liddell, who is excited to be competing on the national stage as a freshman, talked about the second day of the trip.

DOMONINQUE LIDDELL'S THOUGHTS ON DAY TWO OF NCAA TOURNAMENT TRIP TO OREGON:
Considering the two-hour time difference, we didn't get into bed until 4 a.m. last night. But we gladly made up for the jet lag with a good night's rest. We didn't have to be down for lunch until 12 noon! This is unlike our normal routine when we travel. Normally, we always have to be down for a 9 a.m. breakfast. But today was a true blessing of pure sleep.

We headed off to Buffalo Wild Wings and feasted on all the flavor wings. Spicy garlic and the hot wings are my favorite, so I killed my plate and tried a few of my teammates' wings as well. After catching up on our flight experiences and eating lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings, we headed off to practice.

Practice was held at the George Fox gym from 3:15-4:45 p.m. This was one of the most important practices of the year because Concordia will make its first national tournament appearance in history tomorrow! The coaches and staff made sure that we went over the style of play of Lewis & Clark, which is our first opponent. Although we needed to get a lot done today, I thought practice was pretty fun because I have never experienced anything like this before. Competing at the national level as a freshman is awesome!

After practice, we headed up to a classroom where we watched film on Lewis & Clark for the first time. To be honest, although they are ranked 10th in the nation, I think that we are a lot faster, tougher and more disciplined! Coach pointed out a few things that we need to be aware of far as defense and offense. Their post players seem to have a big impact to their team, so I can't wait to be able to lock them up whenever I'm on defense. My main goal is to rebound like never before and be a great presence defensively. Everything else will take care of itself since we play like family.

We are ready to set a name for Concordia around the nation. Let's go Nados!
