Junior Dwayne Patterson of the men’s basketball team is the 13th Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the 2012-13 academic year. He is earning the award for the first time of his career.
Patterson scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds, which were both team highs, in a 69-66 loss to St. Mary’s last Monday evening. He also contributed four steals, which matched a team best, and two assists against the NCAA Division II institution.
A kinesiology major from Long Beach, Calif., Patterson is the son of Rhonda Lewis and Dwayne Patterson. He has three brothers, Devin, Chris and Brandon, and one sister, Ebony.
