Concordia Texas Athletics

Junior Josh Sanchez of the men’s basketball team is the 26th Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the 2012-13 academic year. He is earning the award for the second time of his career.

Sanchez was named the American Southwest Conference Tournament’s MVP after leading the Tornados to their first-ever league crown and NCAA Tournament berth. He averaged 22.7 points and 2.0 assists in the three games, which included exploding for 34 points in the championship contest against Mary Hardin-Baylor that Concordia won by an 80-76 score. Sanchez also netted 17 points in victories over Mississippi College and Texas-Dallas.

Sanchez is a native of Houston, Texas who is majoring in kinesiology. He has two brothers, Nicholas Harnamji and Joe Garza, and one daughter, Aliyah Ann Sanchez.
