Concordia Texas Athletics

Junior Jessica Parish of the softball team is the 33rd Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the 2012-13 academic year. She is earning the award for the second time of her career.

Parish helped Concordia win three out of four pivotal American Southwest Conference games against Hardin-Simmons and end the weekend alone in fourth place for what would be the final playoff spot. She had at least one hit in each game and most notably drove in a combined five runs in the team’s one-run victories over the Cowgirls on the second day. The junior posted a .533 batting average by going 8-for-15 with a home run and five RBI in the four-game series. She also had a .533 on-base percentage and slugged at a .733 clip.

Parish, a kinesiology major from Lexington, Texas, is the daughter of Helen and Richard Parish. She has one brother, Jason.
