Sophomore Jack Cersosimo of the men’s golf team is the 34th Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the 2012-13 academic year. He is earning the award for the second time of his career.
Cersosimo became the first CTX golfer in school history – male or female – to make the all-conference first team twice in his career after tying for third individually at the 2013 American Southwest Conference Championships. He carded a 230 by firing marks of 78, 79 and 73 in the three rounds on the par-72, 6,692-yard course. The sophomore ended the spring with a career scoring average of 75.49, which is a school record.
Cersosimo, a native of Austin, is the son of Rebecca and Jay Cersosimo. He has one brother, Nick.
