Concordia Texas Athletics

Concordia University Texas senior Tyler Compton has been named the Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday evening.

Compton, a guard for the Tornados women's basketball team, averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 assists over two games last week. The Lafayette, La., native scored 14 points and set a program record for the NCAA Division III era with 13 assists in a 74-54 win at Mississippi College on Dec. 2.

Compton leads Concordia Texas with 20.8 points and 6.0 assists per game. She also is shooting a team-best 59.7 percent from the field through the first four contests.
