Concordia University Texas softball freshman Hanna Contreras has been named Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday morning.

Contreras opened her collegiate career by helping Concordia Texas to a 4-0 mark last week. The freshman infielder batted .727 (8-for-11) with three doubles, a home run and eight RBIs. The Austin, Texas, native also slugged 1.273 and reached base at an .800 clip.

In her first collegiate at-bat, Contreras belted a three-run homer in the first inning against Ozarks and propelled the Tornados to a 17-8 season-opening victory.
