Concordia University Texas junior Cameron Cox has been named the Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Cox earned a win, struck out five and allowed only one earned run in Concordia Texas' 12-2 victory over Texas-Dallas last Saturday.
The right-hander gave up four hits (all singles), three of which came in the first inning. The Comets scored both of their runs in the opening frame, one of which was unearned.
From there, Cox settled in, allowing only one more single over the final six innings. He also retired the final 16 batters of the game en route to his third consecutive complete game.
