Concordia University Texas women's track & field senior Megan Wagenaar has been named Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday.
Wagenaar raced to a new school record in the 1,500 meters last Saturday at the Texas State Invitational. The Missouri City, Texas, native, who finished fourth and was the lone non-Division I competitor, crossed the finish line in 4:36.06, which is the second-fastest time in Division III this season. Wagenaar has broken the program mark in the 1500m twice this spring, and the latest instance was over nine seconds faster than the time she clocked a month ago.
