Freshman Chris Randle of the men’s track & field team is the Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the second time this season for his performance in the high jump at the Tarleton State Invitational on Thursday, March 10.
Randle, who recorded a national-best mark in the high jump at Incarnate Word earlier in the month, placed third overall and first among NCAA Division III student-athletes in his premier event by clearing 6-feet, 6-inches at Tarleton State. The jump currently ranks second in the country behind Rust’s Demeatrick Clayton, who cleared 6-7.50 on March 11 at the Birmingham Southern Invitational. It is also an American Southwest Conference best by four inches.
A native of Temple, Randle is the son of Crystal Randle. He has three brothers, Arron (26), Tony (20) and Adrian (19).
