Scott Hays is Concordia's Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the first time this year after helping the baseball team advance to the American Southwest Conference Championship Round this coming weekend.
Hays was the winning pitcher in the Tornados’ 10-0 victory in the decisive third game of a best-of-three series against Louisiana College on Saturday, Apr. 30. The junior, who has seen limited action this season, hurled six shutout innings and allowed only two hits while recording two strikeouts. Only one Wildcat was able to advance past first base, which was the result of a Tornado error in the outfield. For his efforts, Hays was named the Most Outstanding Player of the first round series.
A kinesiology major from Round Rock, Texas, Hays is the son of Jan Foradory and Mark Hays. He has two sisters, Kimberly Lynn Lavato and Kristyn Hays.
