Justin Beasley is Concordia’s Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the third time this spring after being named the Most Valuable Player of the American Southwest Conference Baseball Championship Tournament and leading the Tornados to their second title in program history.

Beasley batted .500 with a home run, a double and six runs batted in over three games in the tournament to garner MVP honors. His best individual performance came in Saturday’s 8-3 victory over host Texas-Dallas in which he went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Beasley drove in four of the Tornados’ first five runs by belting an RBI double to the gap in left center in the first frame and blasting a three-run homer over the fence in left an inning later to give his team a 5-0 advantage at the time.

In the championship game against the same opponent, Beasley was 2-for-3 from the plate and drove in two runs. He also helped plate Brent Schaekel for the game’s first run when he reached on an error by the Comet shortstop.

Beasley is a kinesiology major from Frankin, Texas and the son of Steve and Elaine Beasley. He plans on pursuing a career in physical therapy.
