Cedric Perry is Concordia's Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the first time and is being honored for his record-breaking performance at the Incarnate Word Last Chance Meet.
Perry, who entered the competition needing to drop his time by just .37 seconds to eclipse the NCAA provisional standard of 54.30, placed second among three competitors in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles by navigating the track in 54.65. The mark bettered his previous program standard of 54.67, which he posted at the American Southwest Conference Championships on Apr. 30.
Perry is a communications major from Round Rock, Texas and the son of Lisa and Clennie Perry. He has one brother, Clennie III (24), and one sister, Cydnie (12).
