Sophomore goalkeeper Olivia Jablinski of the women's soccer team is the seventh Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the 2011-12 academic year. She is earning the honor for the first time in his career.
Jablinski recorded two shutouts between the posts in 1-0 Tornado victories over Texas-Tyler and Centenary. She made a combined 10 saves, including a career-best nine stops in the win over the Patriots. Jablinski, who set career and single-season program standards with her seventh shutout, helped Concordia extend its winning streak to seven matches and its shutout streak, the second-longest in the ASC this season, to 700:40. Both marks are school records.
A native of Plano, Jablinski is tied for first in the conference in shutouts (7) with Texas-Dallas' Brittany Best. She also ranks third in the ASC with an .843 save percentage and fourth with an 0.65 goals against average. Her efforts have also helped the Tornados match program records for overall victories (10) and conference victories (7) with four league matches still left to play.
Jablinski, a Director of Christian Education major, is the daughter of Sue and David. She has two sisters, Meredith and Anne.
