BROWNWOOD,Texas – The Concordia Texas women's golf team took one step closer to defending their crown at the Camp Bowie Intercollegiate Match Play Saturday, defeating Schreiner 4.5-0.5 at Brownwood Country Club.
 
The Tornados picked up four victories and one tie on the day to advance to the finals of the Match Play. CTX will take on Mary Hardin-Baylor on Sunday in the tournament championship. 
 
Makaela Laurtisen picked up the largest victory of the day for the Tornados, winning her matchup after being up by seven holes with six to play.
 
Grace Savage and Madyson Millorn also picked up lopsided wins on the day, with Savage winning her contest up five with three holes to play and Milliorn grabbing a win by going up four with three left.
 
Loren Nevers was fantastic in her win as well for CTX, taking home the victory when she went up three with two to play.
 
Tiana Shobe, meanwhile, finished her matchup all-square through 18 holes of action. 
 
The championship match will take place Sunday against UMHB at Brownwood Country Club.
