ABILENE, Texas – The Concordia Texas women's tennis team fell 5-0 to East Texas Baptist in the American Southwest Conference Tournament quarterfinals, bringing their season to a close.
The Tornados fell behind 3-0 early in doubles play, coming out on the wrong end of all three matches.
Isabella Wiik and
Emily Hines battled with the Tigers a line one, but ultimately fell 8-6.
Claire Austin and
Kaitlin Stevens also provided a great effort at line two, but came up short 8-6.
In singles, Mckinzie Adams suffered a 6-3, 6-1 defeat at line one, and Austin took the second set to a tiebreaker but ultimately fell 6-3, 7-5. After two singles matches, the Tornados lost 5-0 to ETBU.
The Tornados reached their fourth straight ASC Tournament and ended the year with a 7-5 record, going 3-2 in ASC play.
Concordia Texas says good bye to the squad's lone senior,
Alejandra Rueda, but will return next year with a roster loaded with talent and experience.
