BELTON, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team extended their winning streak to four, rolling past Mary Hardin-Baylor 8-1 on Thursday.
The Tornados continued their hot play, sweeping doubles play and winning five of six singles matches to secure the win and remain undefeated in American Southwest Conference play.
In doubles play,
Joshua Bode and Adrian Mungia teamed up for an 8-1 win at line one, and
Esteban Arredondo and
Andres Padilla picked up an 8-3 victory at line two.
Joeri Bregman and
Nico De La Pena wrapped up doubles play at line three, playing to an 8-3 win.
In singles play, Bode won his fourth straight match at line one with a 7-5, 6-3 victory over Omana, and Arredondo won his fourth straight match as well with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at line two.
At line three,
Evan Pena Jr. cruised to a dominant 6-1, 6-2 win, and Padilla recovered after dropping the first set to win line four 1-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The final win of the day belonged to
Jorge Garcia as he took a lopsided 6-2, 6-3 victory at line five.
Concordia Texas will return to action on April 21 when they make up a match with Hardin Simmons, originally scheduled for April 2.
