AUSTIN, Texas – The Concordia Texas men's tennis team delivered a masterclass at River Place Country Club, steamrolling McMurry University 7-0 in a flawless display of power and precision. From the opening serve to the final point, the Tornados controlled every aspect of the match, leaving no doubt about their dominance.
Concordia wasted no time setting the tone in doubles play. Adrian Munguia and Vincent Risoldi dictated the pace at No. 1, securing a commanding 6-3 victory. At No. 2, Daniel Beckles and Steven Scholz overpowered their opponents with a convincing 6-2 win, while Hunter Green and Jake Riggs delivered a crushing 6-1 triumph at No. 3. That intensity carried over into singles, where Concordia delivered six straight-set victories in a pure display of dominance. Nationally ranked Steven Scholz (#25) made quick work of his opponent at No. 1, dropping just one game in a ruthless 6-1, 6-0 statement win. Munguia and Beckles followed with commanding performances, with Beckles not surrendering a single game in a flawless 6-0, 6-0 shutout. Green, Aaron Griffin, and Ethan Garcia cleaned up the remaining matches with ease, completing the Tornados' total takeover.
With momentum at full throttle, Concordia now turns its attention to Carnegie Mellon, set for a Tuesday showdown at 2 PM. The Tornados are rolling, and they have no plans of slowing down.
