AUSTIN, Texas — For the second consecutive year, Concordia Texas Esports claimed the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship, closing out the 2025 spring season with a dramatic finish and a decisive tiebreaker victory.

The Tornados entered the postseason with strong momentum across multiple titles. In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, CTX fought through a close matchup against Hendrix, falling 2–0 in an intense 11-stock opener. The team went on to compete in the third-place match against Schreiner, ultimately dropping 4–0 and securing one point toward the overall standings.

CTX's Valorant squad, seeded first entering playoffs, delivered one of the most memorable finals in program history. After sweeping Austin College 3–0, the Tornados advanced to face Colorado College in the Grand Finals. With the match tied heading into a decisive fifth map, CTX trailed 4–12 on match point before storming back with ten straight rounds to win 14–12. The nearly five-hour thriller earned CTX four points in the standings and swung momentum heavily in the Tornados' favor.

In Marvel Rivals, CTX regrouped after an early loss to St. Thomas and responded with a 3–1 victory over Colorado College in the third-place match. The result earned the Tornados two additional points and evened the standings with Colorado College heading into the final tallies.

Last season, the SCAC Championship ended in a shared title between CTX and Colorado College after both programs tied on points. This year, the Tornados erased all doubt. With Valorant capturing first place, Concordia Texas secured the tiebreaker outright and hoisted the SCAC Championship trophy for a second straight year.

"Our team showed immense talent, resilience, and improvement throughout the season." said Head Coach Palomares. "I can only dream of what this next semester holds for us."

The back-to-back title marks another milestone for the CTX Esports program as it continues establishing itself as a rising force within the conference.
