Insurance Information

Student-athletes at Concordia University Texas are required not only by the university but by the NCAA to carry and maintain an active insurance policy that will cover athletic related injuries.  If you are not currently covered under an insurance policy that covers athletic injuries you must obtain a policy that will do so prior to participation in CTX athletics.  The insurance policy must also allow for medical care in the Austin area and have maximum coverage limits of $90,000* or greater per incident.

To obtain an appropriate insurance policy you may contact a health insurance provider of your choice.  While Concordia University Texas has no affiliation with the following insurance agency, they will be able to assist you in obtaining an insurance policy that will meet the requirements set forth by Concordia University Texas as well as the NCAA.

Policies must be active during not only the regular playing season but also the non traditional playing season.  It is strongly recommended that insurance policies be carried throughout a student-athletes playing career so in the event an injury occurs during the off season it will not be treated as a pre existing condition on a new insurance policy.

* Coverage limits are set by the NCAA and are required as the deductable for the NCAA's Catastrophic Injury Insurance Program.  The NCAA's Catastrophic Injury Insurance Program does not replace the need for health insurance and only covers catastrophic injuries as a result of participation in an NCAA sanctioned event.
