The CTX men’s and women’s golf programs continued to show significant signs of improvement in 2011-12. The women’s team had a record-breaking season for the second straight year, beginning on Sept. 13, 2011 when a group consisting of two freshmen and two sophomores combined to record the lowest team score in school history by 31 strokes at its first tournament. The women recorded a fourth-place finish, a program best, at the American Southwest Conference Championships and finished the spring with their lowest team season scoring average ever by more than 19 strokes. Blair Allen ended the year with the lowest individual season scoring average in the program annals and became the first player in program history to be named all-conference, while Kayla Burch established record-breaking marks for lowest tournament score and lowest tournament score vs. par at the Lady Bulldog Fall Classic. The men’s team recorded its two highest tournament finishes in program history, while freshman Jack Cersosimo became the first student-athlete to win two career invitationals and made the all-conference first team. Furthermore, Burch and Zach Collier were named the ASC Distinguished Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while a league-best three women's golfers - Allen, Burch and Taylor Menville - made the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) All-American Scholar Team.
The 2010-11 academic year was a landmark season for the programs, as the men’s and women’s teams were both invited to compete at the ASC Championships for the first time in school history. Eddie Diaz de Leon made the All-ASC First Team and paced the men’s squad by finishing third overall with a three-round score of 226, which was only two strokes behind the co-leaders. Burch and Allen bettered the individual school record at the time for the lowest 36-hole total score (183) at all eight tournaments as freshmen, highlighted by Burch’s 163 at the Southwestern Invitational, while leading the women’s program to its first-ever appearance at the ASCs. Burch and Allen were also named to the NGCA All-American Scholar Team after posting perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point averages during the fall and spring semesters.
The 2009-10 men's golf team became the first CTX golf team to ever earn a berth in the ASC Golf Championships. Senior Michael Goldwater finished second overall in the tournament, earning all-conference first team honors, while Diaz de Leon garnered second team recognition. Sigler also led senior Kevin Hoppman to a spot in the 2009 ASC Championships, where he posted a top-20 finish by firing a career-best total of 232.
