Following a solid career as a student-athlete, Michael Goldwater is in his fifth year as assistant coach for the Concordia University Texas men’s and women’s golf teams. He is responsible for assisting head coach Greg Sigler with all aspects of the programs.

Goldwater, who transferred to Concordia from UTEP for his senior year of eligibility, reeled off one of the most impressive seasons in school history as a student-athlete in 2009-10. He registered a runner-up finish at the American Southwest Conference Championships by setting a school record with a three-under-par round of 68 on the final day of the event. In addition, he set eight single-season records and totaled four top-10 finishes at invitationals and championship events during the year. Goldwater finished the spring ranked 140th nationally at the NCAA Division III level by Golfstat.com.

Before coming to Concordia, Goldwater earned three letters with the Miners between 2002-07. He most notably finished tied for 22nd at the 2004 WAC Championships with a three-round score of 221 and also placed 11th at the Brigham Young Classic during the same season.

Goldwater, an Austin native who was named an All-American by the National High School Junior Golfers Coaches Association (NJGCA) on the scholastic level at Lake Travis High School, earned a bachelor's degree in history at Concordia.
