Elizabeth Thoms joined the Tornados' tennis staff in the Spring of 2018. Thoms comes in having worked as a tennis instructor in the Dallas/Fort Worth area as well as spending time coaching tennis in Boston.
Thoms previously worked as a volunteer assistant/student worker for the University of Texas at Arlington tennis program, where she played collegiately.
In her time at UTA as a player, Thoms had an extremely successful career, including leading the Mavericks to the Sun Belt Conference Tournament finals in 2015 as well as the Sun Belt Tournament semifinals in 2014 and 2016. She is a four-time First Team All-Sun Belt Conference singles award winner and a two-time First Team All-Sun Belt doubles winner (2015 & 2016).
Overall, Thoms sits in a tie for fourth place in UTA program history in all-time singles victories and eighth all-time in doubles wins. She finished her playing career with a 74-35 singles record and is in sixth place in all-time overall victories.
Thoms achieved her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology in the Spring of 2016 and also has her BTEC National Extended Diploma in Sport Level 3 from Chichester College in the UK.
