Albert Ochoa serves as a volunteer assistant coach for the Concordia University Texas men's and women's tennis programs, bringing decades of tennis experience and deep ties to the Central Texas tennis community to the Tornados.
An Elite Certified RSPA Professional, Ochoa has been a longtime leader and advocate for tennis throughout Central Texas. His extensive involvement in the sport includes serving on the Capital Area Tennis Association (CATA) Board and as president of the Capital Area Professional Tennis Association. He was also the first high school coach elected to serve as president of the organization.
Ochoa's contributions to the high school game have also earned statewide recognition, as he was named the USPTA Texas High School Coach of the Year.
A fixture in the Austin tennis community, Ochoa is fondly regarded as the "Founding Father" of the Longhorn Tennis Camps. During his time with the camps, he worked alongside both the University of Texas men's and women's tennis programs as well as coaches Dave Snyder, Jeff Moore and Michael Center, along with longtime camp director Bob Haugen.
Beyond the court, Ochoa is a published author, photographer and artist. He authored the creative science-fiction tennis novel Total Conquest, combining his passion for the sport with storytelling.
Throughout his career, Ochoa has remained committed to developing players and giving back to the tennis community as a coach and mentor. He now brings that experience and passion to Concordia Texas, where he proudly contributes to the continued growth of the Tornados' men's and women's tennis programs.
