Senior Erin Duhon of the softball team is the 30th Taco Bell Athlete of the Week for the 2012-13 academic year. She is earning the award for the first time of her career.
Duhon helped Concordia win three of its four games on the road against Howard Payne, which entered the weekend with a 5-1 conference record. She batted .647 by going 11-for-17, drove in 10 runs and scored five times. Duhon, who also posted a .611 on-base percentage and slugged at a .941 clip, had at least two runs batted in, two hits and one run scored in all four games. She had three hits and two RBI in a pair of Tornado wins on Friday before driving in three runs in both games on Saturday. She had three singles in Saturday’s opener before finishing 2-for-3 with a double, a homer and three RBI in the series finale.
Duhon, a secondary education major from Cypress, Texas, is the daughter of Mary and Mike Duhon. She has two brothers, Matt and Austin.
