Concordia University Texas senior Dwayne Patterson was named Taco Bell Athlete of the Week, it was announced on Tuesday morning.
Patterson averaged 21.5 points, 11.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists over a pair of road victories for the Tornados last week. The 6-foot-5, 205-pounder started the week by earning his eighth double-double of the season in a win over Sul Ross State. Patterson poured in 31 points and grabbed 16 rebounds against the Lobos last Thursday. Two days later, the Long Beach, Calif., native scored 12 points, collected seven boards and dished out seven assists in a win at Howard Payne. Patterson shot 42.9 percent (12-of-28) from the floor, including 40 percent (2-for-5) from beyond the arc. He also knocked down 17 of his 24 attempts from the charity stripe.
