ALPINE, Texas – Concordia Texas volleyball picked up a 3-0 conference victory over the Sul Ross Lady Lobos on Friday night in an American Southwest Conference (ASC) match up. Scores were 25-22, 25-22 and 25-23. Concordia improves to 6-7 and 2-3 in the ASC while, Sul Ross falls to 0-10 on the year with an ASC mark of 0-6. 

Concordia held a steady lead in the first set and took the win off a kill by Ana Rodriguez (Laredo, TX). In the second set the Tornados never lost the lead although Sul Ross tied the set five times until Concordia eventually took the 25-22 win.

The final set was another close match-up although, errors on the part of the Lady Lobos proved critical as Concordia edge by in a 25-23 victory, marking their second ASC win.

The Tornados were led by Carrie Fisk (Baytown, TX) with 10 kills and 10 digs. Setters Julie Applewhaite (Georgetown, TX) and Valerie Martinez (Eagle Pass, TX) recorded 16 and 15 assists for the evening.

As a team Concordia finished with 34 kills, 39 digs and four blocks.

Concordia will face Texas Lutheran University on Tuesday September 30, 2008 in Seguin, TX. The match is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm.
